I don’t have very many readers here at Fat in the Fire so when one of them emails me with a suggestion, I feel it’s a good idea to pay attention. When that reader is herself a well-known and well-respected blogger and freelance writer, I think it’s a good idea to take her suggestion seriously. [...]
Why I Don’t Want a Hysterectomy
Whereupon She Contemplates Weight Loss Surgery
I haven’t blogged about this subject very much. Frankly, even though my weight has been THE defining issue of my life, I’ve mostly avoided dealing with it in a straightforward manner. I make jokes. I refer to myself as “FatLady.” I’ve learned to poke fun of myself before anyone else can. That’s nothing new–certain notable [...]
Uncluttering II
Okay, so about a year ago, I had this little meltdown about the clutter around here–we just plain had too much stuff. That’s all there is too it. I mean, if you live on one of those McMansions you aren’t going to understand this probably but it IS possible to have to much stuff. If [...]
Uncluttering Mr. & Mrs. Clutterbug
Hello, Readers. I know I’m supposed to be blogging about endometrial hyperplasia and hysterectomies and Canadian health care but honestly, NOTHING IS HAPPENING. I’m still taking the progesterone. I didn’t have a period when I should have but the nurse says it’ll happen. I’m trying to be patient. The PMS passed after a couple days [...]
Brain Fog & Mental Clutter: Is My Brain Age Older Than I Am?
After I posted about my possible ADD the other day, I got to thinking: what a freaking hypochondriac! Good Grief! The other side of this coin is that perhaps I suffer from mental clutter or “Brain Fog” brought on by my lifestyle and my sometimes wrong-headed thinking.
For a little background–I’ve been unemployed now for nearly [...]
Hormone Imbalance? ADD? “Brain Fog?” ….or have I always been this way? or….
…what was I saying?
Oh yeah, ADD. I’m talking about my incredibly short attention span, my “attention deficit disorder”, my inability to focus, to concentrate, to finish any one project (or even remember what I was doing ) before I start on the next project, or the next, project, or the next. Minutes slip [...]
Happy Valentine’s Day!
May the arrow of love pierce your–uh–tender places (metaphorically speaking) this Valentine’s Day. Grab your Sweetie and share the love!
Oh, and let’s give some love to istockphoto.com & Dennis Cox for today’s illustration. I’m in love with Dennis’ fat ladies. I think maybe he gets he gets me….?
If you liked this post, [...]
The Miracle of Macrobid
She lives! Through the miracle of Macrobid, I’m feeling just about normal again! Whoo hoo! It was an unpleasant couple of days–and the nights were worse. I had fever & chills for an additional two nights after starting the antibiotic–bad enough that Hubby tried to talk me into going to the emergency [...]
Yup, It’s a Bladder Infection
Boy do I feel STUPID –for a couple reasons:
I reverted my my formerly uninsured American self –and “put off” going to the doctor.
While cranberry juice can PREVENT a bladder infection if taken regularly, it cannot CURE one. All I was doing was masking my symptoms. What a moron!
The result? Ten days of antibiotic–effectively screwing [...]
The Progesterone isn’t Working…Maybe?
It’s a good news/bad news situation here at Chez FatLady. The PMS has subsided but there has not been any shedding of endometrial layers. Damn. I’m awaiting a call back from the doctor’s office to tell me what to do next.
Meanwhile I think I have a bladder infection/ I say “I think.” One [...]
